WELCOME

We're responsible for:​

​

  • upkeep of the village street lighting

  • the grit bins

  • Butts Lane dog bin

  • the defibrillator

  • the village noticeboard

  • the speed activated monitor

  • general maintenance around the village

  • commenting on planning applications

​​The Parish Council comprises of 7 members, elected every four years. The Chairman is elected at the Annual Parish Council meeting in May, currently Jonathan Dorey is Chairman.

​

The Parish Council currently have 2 casual vacancies. â€‹If by 3 February 2026 a request for an election to fill said vacancies is made in writing to the Returning Officer at North Norfolk District Council by TEN electors for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the vacancies, otherwise they will be filled by co-option.​

​

​ We hold meetings on the first Thursday of the month in March, July, September and November: In January and May they are held on the second Thursday of the month, in the Village Hall. Members of the public are welcome to attend and there is a short time during the meeting when members of the public can speak with regard to an agenda item.

​

Upper Sheringham do not have any allotments however Sheringham Town Council have a site on Weybourne Road, this is open to residents from neighboring parishes. If you wish to apply for an allotment plot please contact the Town Council on 01263 822213 or email info@sheringhamtowncouncil.gov.uk

The Parish council is also Custodian Trustee for the Village Hall.

They strive to build links between services and people, connecting them to improve health, wellbeing and community spirit for the residents of North Norfolk.
